Management of the supply chain, administration and accounting of over 150 non-strategic suppliers for a single client
The Goal
SNECI had to manage the delivery and supply chain from more than 150 non-strategic suppliers towards a single client.
SNECI’s Role
To assure the success of this mission, SNECI put into place new IT tools with efficient links to the 150 suppliers and the six sites where parts would be delivered to the client in France, Spain and Slovakia. The customer’s factories had a single point of contact for all the suppliers: SNECI. "Therefore it was up to us to coordinate the flow, ensure smooth delivery and monitor inventory levels, but also pay the 150 suppliers in different currencies and according to different payment conditions depending on the country," says Andrea Mihalova, who led this project for SNECI. Implementation was complicated, but operation of the supply line was reliable and efficient. To achieve this, the SNECI team created and worked with a specific software tool. Thanks to this tool, SNECI was able to break automatically into pieces its orders with the suppliers, knowing that some of them have to receive orders by fax and others via EDI.
SNECI’s Added Value
The suppliers and the customer could count on SNECI’s expertise in supply, logistics and financial flux management. SNECI also added value in managing the administrative tasks in relationships and logistical and financial flows. SNECI was the true interface between the actors in the project, providing a simple and effective way of working. Moreover, SNECI made sure that the client’s requests and specifications were communicated to every partner.
The organization of such a project required a rigorous approach and significant resources. In partnering with SNECI, the suppliers found that doing business was easier, and the client had only a single contact able to create the technical, cultural and linguistic links to companies based in Central Europe.
To succeed in this project, SNECI used its subsidiary in Spain to manage the Spanish suppliers and the specificities of VAT, its Slovakian subsidiary to mange the Central European suppliers and its office in France.
