Renault Group Morocco announces doubling of purchases in Morocco and the increase of its localization objective to 65%

SNECI represented by its Chairman, Isabelle Bailly, and its Managing Director MEA, Reda Layt, has participated in the Supplier Convention of Renault Group Morocco on April 8 2016 in Tangier

This convention of exceptional character was titled “In Morocco with Renault” and has taken place under the presence of Renault-Nissan Top Management and representatives of the Moroccan government, among them Moroccan Minister of Industry, Commerce, Investment and E-Business, Mr. Moulay Hafid Elalamy.

At this occasion Renault has announced the signature of a new contract with the Moroccan government entitled “Renault Ecosystem”. Content of this contract is the increase of purchasing volumes from 1 to 2 Billion Euro sourced from Morocco and the progression of its localization objective to 65% for its production sites in Tangier and Casablanca.

These ambitions are accompanied by special measures from the Moroccan State giving financial aid to manufacturers who decide to locate to Morocco in order to supply Renault Group Morocco.

This announcement strengthens the attractiveness of Morocco for automotive Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers and makes it an inevitable destination in purchasing strategies of the biggest automotive manufacturers and suppliers for the MEA region.
