First Business Development Of A Chinese Supplier On The Chinese Market

SNECI has signed its first Business Development contract with a Chinese supplier for the Chinese market.

Established in China since 2011, SNECI has been successfully developing international OEMs on the Chinese market as a part of its Business Development activities. However, 2018 marks a key milestone, as it is the first time that SNECI provides Business Development services to Chinese suppliers towards Chinese customers.

Founded in 2009, BFT, a Chinese supplier of plastic raw materials, has been working with many Tier 1 manufacturers and OEMs in China. BFT has nominated SNECI to conduct its commercial development within the Joint-Ventures of PSA and Renault in China as well as with their Tier 1 suppliers.

As a part of this job, SNECI is responsible for convincing the manufacturers to grant BFT a certification for plastic materials before responding to RFQs from Tier 1 suppliers. “The most critical step is the certification of plastic materials,” says Future Cai, Director of SNECI China. “This process can take up to 18 months and requires frequent meetings with OEM’s teams. After starting the commercial development in China, the second step will be to further develop the export market.”
